Warning!! This is a NO spoiler zone. Please do not post and "leaked" information you think you may have found or other spoilers that could possible ruin the book for others.
Alright. So the last Harry Potter book is coming out pretty darn soon. I know that I am pretty excited for it. I recently reread the entire series so I would be "prepared" for it. I think the last book should be a really good one personaly, as Rowling has improved as a writer with each book. What do you guys think of it?

The 2 people who are going to die is kindof a big deal in this book. I hate that she had to kill off some of the main characters, but it kinda makes sence in the fact that it is her last book, and she has to make a big finish ending.
On another note, the movie comes out tonight...So, guess where I will be...
Nope, you guessed wrong, I have my Microbiology night class, so I'll be in class till after 10pm!

Has she officially said that 2 characters are going to be killed off, becuase this is news to me. I also want to see the new movie too. I thought however that it came out on the 12th.....guess i was misinformed.

She said two characters that werent initially meant to die do die and one character now gets a reprieve(Sirius would be my best guess but who knows). Therefore, ATLEAST 2 people die and likely many more.

Yikes!! I guess I havnt been keeping up with all the news. I hope she doesn't bring Dumbledore back (she has said that he is dead, but you say on character comes back) becuase that would sort of ruin the whole Harry vs. Voldemort thing. I have no guess as to who she will kill off, but if she killed off Ron or Hermione that would really suck.

It won't be Sirius... the reprieve she mentioned refers to a character she was going to kill in Deathly Hallows, not one already dead.

I say she just kills off Harry and Hermoine. Guarantees that there won't be more books. :)

Heh, Xandar, that may be true. And it most certainly would work. Although, the series is supposed to end anyways. And who knows, for all we know, she said two main characters, not necessarily good ones...

Supposed to and will are two separate things -- albeit she's been able to skyrocket into top 5 richest women in the world soley through the popularity and licensing of her books.

I think she might kill off Ginny or Cho.

Sounds like I'm in the minority, but I never understood what the big deal about this series is. Obviously there is something to it because so many people dig it, but I never got hooked.

I have "heard" though not from a 100% reliable source, that hermoine and harry are the ones to die...I'm looking forward to finding out for myself though, and how anyone could have that knowledge is beyond me...But, it does make for some exciting intrigue before the book is released

I was the same way... the first book I read in the series was The Goblet of Fire and that was due to utter boredom.
That book is where I think the series really gets interesting. If I'd read any of the first three before that, I would have wrote off the whole series.

Well, originally she said the chess game in the first book was foreshadowing the ending (Ron sacrifices himself), but later she was asked by a teary little girl at some book reading if she was going to kill Ron, and she said "I could never do that!"
I don't want harry/herm to die, but I think they might be it.

I think it's going to be Ginny. She has to go, and it will probably be Harry. Who knows. I've always figured Harry was going to die, but who knows. I am extremely excited for the book though. Not so for the movie. The last movie was a travesty, and this movie is based on an even larger book. Maybe they'll go to a mall and hang out in this one.

It is true that the movies have never been anywhere near as good as the books, but they are still worth seeing. I do also think they have gotten slightly better as the years go by, becuase most of the main characters have at least sort of figured out how to act by now. I know a lot of people think Harry is going to die, but i personally don't think so. No matter how wide an audience Harry Potter entertains, it is still a "childrens book" and childrens books usually don't end this way. I think there would be world wide riots if she killed off harry. :p

Actually, I think it's just the opposite.
The movies were better to begin with. They were actually the "correct" age. They wore their robes, went to classes. And they were pretty close to the books. The 3rd movie is when it started to get a little... off. There are portions where they're wearing jeans and tshirts. That's just wrong. That and there are times they NEVER go to class. That was some of the most entertaining stuff from the books.
I also think that she COULD kill Harry and people would be fine. You can't use the childrens book excuse because ... hell, she's killed enough people already, but if Harry went out wand blazing for glory, or in some "glorifying" way, everyone would take it as a good thing.
Now, if she ended it like the Dark Tower Series. People would riot. Closure is what people want with this series.

I have heard some people theorize that Voldemort accidentally turned Harry into a horcrux, and that he would have to die himself for Voldemort to die. I don't know. I just can't buy that she would kill Harry off after writing about and focusing her life around him for 15 years. (approx?) Ive read other series where the main character gets killed off at the end, and I found that It really didn't add much.

Actually, I think he IS a horcrux. They've almost hinted at that in the very beginning when Voldemort and Harry "merged" or shared parts with each other. That's what I've thought since then anyways.
It will be interesting to see what happens. I for one hope that Ginny and Harry live, but if they have to go so be it. I'm always a fan of a great story.

Yeah there have been lots of hints, such as we know Voldemort was going to make his last Horcrux using Harry's death. The fact that Harry can speak parseltongue and could feel Voldemorts feelings would make it seem as though he had a part of Voldemorts soul in him. Either way, I don't think he will die. (at least i hope not) It will be very interesting to read and I can't wait till it comes out. I will be almost sorry that its ending however. Its something I grew up with and Ive always had the next one to look foward too.

I don't want to post any spoilers now, but give it another week and I'd be happy to explain why.

I was happy with the book. It was a bit predictable, but it answered a lot of questions.
Again, not my favorite of the 7 books, but well done and good way to end the series.

My favorite has to the the Goblet of Fire. I hope she would go back and do a series of prequels covering the life of his parents, Snape, the rise of Voldemort, etc.
