If a weapon requires 10 magic to wield it and it also grants 5 magic in its stats; does the 5 magic from the stats count towards the 10. I'm not planning on using it; I'm just curious.

You need 10 magic to equip it.

Once it is equipped, you get the bonus, so you could drop another item that would lower your magic by 5 and it would still work.

Tried that. The item stays equipped but becomes inactive if you drop your stats again. The weapon's name turns red.

So if I need 10 Str for a weapon and the weapon grants +5 str, the weapon's bonus doesn't count when it determines your ability to wield it.

Doesn't sound right to me. Not questioning that that's how it works.. just seems like it shouldn't work that way.
