The new ranking system will be extremely volatile for the first 24-48 hours while everyone gets positioned based on their characters equipment and abilities. So, in other words, there will be a lot of jumping around on the rankings while everyone figures out who they can beat that is ranked higher than them.
Initially, every player was simply ranked based on their user id so do not worry if your ranking is low to start out. As soon as you start beating higher ranked opponents, you will quickly move up the rankings.
