The man picked up his rapier and sheathed his dagger. A grin flashed across his face as he turned and saw his mask softly bathed in moonlight. Tonight, he thought as he slipped his cruel unyielding mask over his face, would be a fine night to kill his intended victims. Laughter filled the marble room, as his soft slippers barely gave breath to each foot step he took towards the balcony. Within an instant the madman was gone, leaving no trace of his existance, except the open doors giving way to the ruffling of the curtains in the warm venetian air, and the crowded streets below.

(ooc: Always wanted to try out this new idea...basically it's this....a contract killer in Venice, Italy at the time of the Renaissance. You figure there were some very rich people, you'd have to have someway to protect their buisnesses...grab a part and jump in to this psuedo history project. Sound like fun?)

From balcony to balcony the assassin lept. The torch lit streets below displayed a full gala of peddlers wandering the streets. If any had even the notion to look, they would see a black shadow who seemed to merely float along the rooftops and open second floor balconies. But no one cared, it was probably the bit of wine they had tasted earlier, as tonight was a night of celebration. One merchant's son was to be married. This marriage would bring the net sum of wealth between the two familys a significant rank up. The assasin grinned behind his mask as he felt the wind rush over his body. His tight leotard ensured he made not a sound, the long black cape ensured he was not to be seen until he was ready to be seen. "I do love a good wedding" he thought as he raced through a town, "A little red matches that white gown oh so well, I just hope my employer will take delight in my work as well." He stopped and stood erect upon the roof top. He was at his destination. He wrapped himself around the gutter spout and snaked his way down to the street. He walked up to the door and knocked.

(ooc: okay...I've set things up for you guys..if not I'll keep going)

(OOC) Explain to me, what exactly am I to do? Am I an assasin? A bodyguard? Whatever I want to be? You were rather vague in your instruction...

The peep hole in the door opened cautiously. Wary eyes viewed out in question. “Who is out there? The Master is busy with preparations and can’t be bothered.”

Amaryllis loved the masques. The costumes were so elaborate and the feathered masks were works of art. Amaryllis' brother, Rudolpho, was an artisan and, with the advent of the mysterious assassin, he had been doing a brisk trade in daggers, short swords, and ornamental sheaths. Everyone wished to be armed, Amaryllis mused. Lucky for her that those were weapons in which she was acquiring a growing skill. Luckier still, that she was blessed with a face and body that a man was more inclined to love than to slay.

"Oh how fortunate ye were to spend time in Europa! I cannot even imagine how wonderful it must have been, especially when one dares not wear any kind of finery here."

"The music, the art, the food and romance. Wondrous indeed! Even a simple salad was a work of art."

And what of the rumours of an an assassin? Were they true? Was he associated with the Templars or one of the evil guilds?

Armand Chevalier

Armand had heard tales of the assassin who caused young maids hearts to flutter, so handsome was he rumoured to be. Perhaps, mused Armand, he was in the wrong profession! Assassination was more lucrative then what he had been doing, and bore little risk more than the pursuits he had been engaged in.
