I would like to be able to train healing skills as a Mage.

Because of impending imbalance issues and the implementation of the Healer class, Healing was removed as a Mage skill.

I understand this is disappointing but it was necessary choice.

Hey BTW I like how you made a Healer class and took out the ability from the firepower classes.

I seem to remember suggesting a cleric class

PS: Sorry scarrrlet, but there was a balance problem evident at end of the last incarnation and I'm glad they are making the choice much more distinct this time

Why yes you did :).

Rangers still get a much more limited version at this time, but they are the only one for now.

Rangers getting it makes sense for balance and fits nicely with the fantasy world view of rangers.

One thing I wonder about though is whether (under this new system) anyone will really go for skills that they can't max at 100 - because usually things with skills they can max are probably better to develop.

Ranger might still be a bit weak... but I'll leave that to you guys.

Perhaps some classes could have class specific items/spells that require less skill to obtain the full benefit? Like a Ranger could perhaps have a "Greater Soothe" that does maximum healing when it is at 25...

That is certainly an interesting concept and not necessarily an application we had thought of for class specific things.

Z is of course an AI and probably thought of this already :p

Actually, Sadistic would be the Code Red and I would have to settle for the Jolt Cola of evil ;)
